Pedestrian v. Auto Case.  - $14,500,000.00

A 27 year old male and a 58 year old male were standing in front of walk-up windows at a San Francisco building.  A delivery car left the roadway, went up a wheelchair ramp, crossed the sidewalk and crushed the plaintiffs against the building.  One man suffered traumatic amputation of both legs above the knee.  The other had a crushed left leg requiring 14 surgeries over two years and multiple skin and muscle grafts.  These cases settled for $14,500,000.

Homosexual man v. Shell Oil Company - $5,300,000.00

A middle aged male who maintained a respectable position in a large corporation was terminated after he was caught making copies of a personal matter to promote a homosexual safe sex party. A co-worker discovered the original copy of the promotional flyer and was offended. The co-worker faxed the original to the company's home office in Houston, Texas and the senior vice president was terminated the next day. The Law Offices of Arnold Laub received a court judgment for $5,300,000.00, the largest then known verdict in the United States for an individual for wrongful termination.

29 year old Male at the Altamont Pass - $4,700,000.00

50 Year old Woman hit by car - $4,500,000.00

A 50-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk at the corner of an intersection when two cars collided at the intersection. A 1-year-old boy living in an illegally structured apartment with no central heating system was burned by the heating system the family was forced to use. When a relative added accelerant to the fire, a small explosion erupted causing the 1-year-old boy to catch on fire. The boy suffered 3rd degree burns to his face, hands and arms. San Jose Garage Explosion - $2,500,000.00

A San Jose man was burned when he opened his garage door and triggered a butane explosion. The water heater inside his garage had been leaking natural gas and creating a vacuum, so when the plaintiff opened his garage the explosion occurred. A 17-year-old female employee of a fast food restaurant chain was asked to stay after work by her supervisor, a man previously arrested, on work premises, for child molestation. Baby with brain damage - $2,225,000.00

A 28-year-old female from Oakland, California brought suit against a hospital because the doctor's delay in performing a Caesarean section caused her baby to have brain damage. The baby's heart rate began to drop, which usually indicates that a doctor needs to be notified and with the patient right away, but in this case, the heart rate monitor went undetected by hospital staff, which resulted in the baby's brain damage. The family of an 18-year-old male brought suit against the driver of a sport utility vehicle that lost control and drove off the side of a cliff. The family of a 33-year-old male brought suit against doctors and a hospital for failure to timely diagnose a brain aneurysm. The man fainted at work and his employer sent him to a medical clinic to be checked. There, he was examined by a nurse and sent home. When his headaches worsened, he sought treatment at a county hospital, where they failed to perform any diagnostic tests. Over the next few weeks, he returned to the clinic many times. Finally, a CT Scan was ordered and revealed he was undergoing a rupture of a cerebral aneurysm.
